TiviMate is the player most of our Android TV customers end up keeping, mainly because its guide looks and scrolls like a cable box. This walkthrough covers a full Gamma IPTV TiviMate setup on a Firestick, Google TV or Android TV box: the login, the settings worth changing on day one, favorites, and the errors we see most often in support tickets. If you are still choosing a player, read our player app comparison first. This guide assumes you have already picked TiviMate.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- Your server URL, username and password. They are in your customer dashboard under the login details section. If you are on the 24-hour free trial, the trial details work the same way.
- A device running Android: Firestick, Fire TV Cube, Google TV, Android TV or an NVIDIA Shield. TiviMate does not run on Samsung, LG or Apple devices.
- A phone nearby. Typing a long password with a TV remote is slow, and one wrong character is the cause of half the login failures we see.
Install TiviMate
On Android TV and Google TV, open the Google Play Store, search for TiviMate IPTV Player and install it.
On a Firestick, TiviMate is installed with the Downloader app. Our Firestick setup guide explains how to allow apps from unknown sources and where to find the download link on your dashboard. Come back here once the app opens.
Gamma IPTV TiviMate login with Xtream Codes
TiviMate offers a few ways to add a playlist. Use Xtream Codes. It loads live TV, movies, series and the guide in one go, so you do not have to paste a separate EPG link.
- Open TiviMate and select Add playlist.
- Choose Xtream Codes.
- In Server address, type the server URL exactly as shown on your dashboard, including
http://and the port number if there is one. - Enter your username and password. Both are case-sensitive.
- Select Next. TiviMate checks the details and shows how many channels, movies and series it found.
- Give the playlist a name, for example Gamma, and select Done.
The first load takes a minute or two while TiviMate downloads the channel list and the TV guide. Leave it alone until the guide grid fills in. Pressing Back halfway through is a common reason for an empty guide later.
If you would rather use the M3U link, TiviMate accepts that too under Enter URL. It works, but you then need to add the EPG link separately. For a Gamma IPTV TiviMate playlist, Xtream Codes is simply less work.
Settings to change on day one
Hide the groups you never watch
A full channel list is long. Trimming it makes the guide much faster to scroll with a remote.
- Go to Settings → Playlists, select your Gamma playlist, then Manage groups.
- Untick the groups you do not want. They disappear from the guide but are not deleted, so you can bring them back later.
You can also long-press a group name in the channel list and choose Hide group.
Set the guide to refresh on its own
Go to Settings → EPG. Check that your Gamma playlist is listed as a source, then set the update interval to once a day. If programs ever show the wrong times, look at the time shift option on the same screen before contacting us. Once a day is plenty for a Gamma IPTV TiviMate playlist; more often only slows the app down.
Playback and buffer
Under Settings → Playback you can raise the buffer size. On a wired box, the default is usually fine. On a Firestick over Wi-Fi, a medium buffer smooths out short drops at the cost of a few seconds of delay.
Favorites and channel order
To add a favorite, highlight a channel, long-press OK and choose Add to favorites. A Favorites group appears at the top of the list, which is the quickest way to make Gamma IPTV TiviMate feel like your own lineup. You can reorder channels inside it from the same long-press menu.
Favorites are stored inside TiviMate on that one device. They do not sync to your second TV or to other players signed in with the same Gamma IPTV account.
Free vs Premium TiviMate
TiviMate has a free version and a paid Premium version. Premium is sold by the TiviMate developer, usually unlocked through the TiviMate Companion app on a phone, and has nothing to do with your Gamma IPTV subscription.
In general terms:
- Free: add one playlist, watch live TV, browse the guide.
- Premium: adds features such as favorites management, multiple playlists, catch-up where the provider supports it, recording, more guide customization and backup of your settings.
The exact feature list and pricing change from time to time, so check the app listing before you buy. If you are on a trial, we suggest testing the channels with the free version first and deciding on Premium once you know you are staying.
Common TiviMate errors and fixes
| What you see | Usual cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “Authorization failed” or “Invalid credentials” | A typo, often in the password or a missing port in the server URL | Re-enter the details from your dashboard, letter by letter |
| Playlist loads, but no channels | Account expired or the trial has ended | Check the status on your dashboard |
| Guide shows “No information” | First EPG load was interrupted | Settings → EPG → Update EPG, then wait a few minutes |
| Channels start, then freeze | Weak Wi-Fi on the device | See our buffering fixes |
| “Max connections” or a stream stops when another TV starts | More screens playing than your plan allows | Stop one stream or move to a plan with more devices on the pricing page |
One more tip: if TiviMate behaves strangely after a Fire OS update, clear the app cache in Settings → Applications → Manage installed applications → TiviMate before reinstalling. It fixes most crashes and keeps your playlist.
If TiviMate still will not connect
Try the same login in the Gamma IPTV web player in your browser. If it plays there, the account is fine and the issue is on the device or in TiviMate’s settings. If it fails there too, contact our support team with your username, the device you are using and a photo of the error. We usually reply by email the same day.
Not sure TiviMate is right for your device? The Gamma IPTV app guide suggests a player for each one, and the help center lists fixes for other common errors.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need TiviMate Premium to watch Gamma IPTV?
No. The free version signs in and plays live channels. Premium is optional and is bought from the TiviMate developer, not from Gamma IPTV.
Can I use TiviMate on a Samsung or LG TV?
Not directly, because TiviMate only runs on Android-based devices. Plug a Firestick or Google TV stick into the TV, or use a Smart TV player such as IBO Player instead.
Does TiviMate count as one of my devices?
Each stream that is playing counts toward your plan’s limit. TiviMate open on the living room TV uses one connection while it plays a channel, just like any other player.
